Does Claude watermark text?
Anthropic publicly describes text watermarking and marking work for Claude. A text watermark can be a wording pattern rather than a visible stamp, while pasted text may separately contain hidden Unicode artifacts.
What Anthropic says
Anthropic's published material describes a statistical approach that changes token selection so a detector can analyze patterns across generated text. That is different from adding one universal invisible character.
What copy-paste changes
Copying text may preserve both wording and Unicode controls. It is therefore not a reliable removal method by itself.
What a clean result can prove
A completed Watermark Slayer result reports the supported transformations performed on that submitted text. It does not prove human authorship, alter file-level provenance, or guarantee how a third-party detector will score the result.
