## Why not delete every invisible character

Zero-width joiners, non-joiners, bidirectional controls, variation selectors, and word joiners can be meaningful in languages, emoji, typography, or interchange. Blanket deletion can corrupt text.

- Review changes shows what was altered

## Hidden does not mean malicious

The presence of a format control is an observation, not an authorship verdict. Legitimate software and writing systems use many of the same code points.
